Lost OWA While Removing an SSL Site

So I was doing some server house cleaning and I removed a site attached to ssl. When I did this it destroyed Outlook Web Access. The fix? Re-assign the ssl cert to another site (it is wildcard), and it all magically works again. I felt that was totally:
